Pre-CNY Hair Pampering Session at A Cut Above

My last visit to a hair salon was right before my wedding back in late September 2016, and ever since I got pregnant, I have less reasons to get my hair professionally done because 1) I've stopped colouring my hair due to how costly it is to maintain; 2) I'm trying to leave my hair long again just because I've missed it.

But still, Chinese New Year is fast approaching and I wanted to give myself a nice little treat that isn't a haircut or chemical treatment, yet also safe for pregnant women like me. So when A Cut Above offered me a complimentary pampering session, I jumped at the opportunity immediately.

I arrived at their Sunway Pyramid outlet with an open mind because I have no specific hair treatment in mind and decided to leave it all up to the experts.

My hairstylist took a look at my hair condition and assigned the Kérastase Fusio Dose Concentré Vita-Ciment treatment for my slightly dry (due to frequent heat styling) but still somewhat healthy hair.

This specific treatment is perfect for anyone who is looking to replenish that natural shine and moisture back into their dull-looking hair.

First step of the process is of course a thorough wash to remove all the impurities from my scalp and hair, which felt really great because I had hair spray and dry shampoo all over my strands. The generous scalp and neck massage was a great bonus!

All lathered up!

After the refreshing wash, my hairstylist proceeds to coat my hair strands with the treatment concentrate, and sends it under a micro mist hair steamer for 10 minutes to further allow my cuticles to absorb all the goodness.

Rinse any excess product off and I was done! The whole process took only an hour and I was left with visibly smoother, shinier locks.

So fresh so clean :)

For those who are interested, the Kérastase Fusio Dose Concentré Vita-Ciment treatment costs RM220 for short hair, and RM290 for long hair.

A Cut Above also offers other treatments along the same range that cater to colour-treated hair and fine hair. Just refer to their hairstylists and they will most likely be able to provide their professional opinions.

All ready for CNY!
