Swinging In Style Bloggers Fashion Show by Luxe Swinger

So about 2 weeks ago, I was one of the 12 bloggers invited by Luxe Swinger to take part in their blogger fashion contest, which I am beyond flattered of, and I had to attend a fashion photo shoot at their store in Publika, where I got to put on 2 different outfits, get pampered by having the peeps from Backstage Academy to do my hair and makeup, and most of all, have fun!

The mechanics of this contest is pretty simple but I know you'd rather watch a video with moving images and people talking, than reading a long listed article, am I right? So here's a short video regarding the contest and also some behind-the-scenes footage, oh, not forgetting me and the other bloggers talking about our views on fashion and the outfits we were wearing. Alright, so click play, sit back, relax and enjoy :)

Now that you've met all 12 bloggers, I'm pretty sure you're excited to see how the pictures turned out right?

My first outfit was this coral pink silk-like shirt dress with shoulder cutouts (pheww that was a mouthful).
Shoulder cutouts have been around for quite a while now, but I am definitely still diggin' it. It is a great way to show off your shoulders (1 of the body parts that is labeled as a sign of femininity), but I understand that sometimes, you don't want to show off your whole arm because you think they're huge and flabby and less-toned, though I'm a firm believer of the contradictive statement 'you are beautiful just the way you are', by contradictive, I mean, you will only look beautiful when you have self confidence, and how can you get self confidence when you look into the mirror and see a body that you don't like?

Yes, working out and toning your body is a great way to look and feel great, but sometimes the results just don't show quick enough; during those type of days, shoulder cutouts work best.
Moving on, remember I mentioned body parts that are labeled as a sign of femininity? Well, collar bones are probably one of the sexiest parts of a female, in my opinion; and the round neckline of this dress shows them off relentlessly.

I love the silk-like material of the dress, light and flowy, which makes it a staple for the hot and humid weather in our country. And last but not least, the rounded hem of the dress exudes an illusion of elongated legs.

Now, if you are like me, who doesn't want to be seen public wearing the same outfits over and over, yet you cannot afford the wear-and-discard lifestyle, mixing and matching is the way to go.

This dress is bright in color, yet subtle with the simple minimalistic print, or in this case, no-print. Making it fuss-free to pair it with crazy accessories like statement necklaces and belts, experiment and letting the accessories take centre stage, for a romantic dinner under the moonlight maybe? Or pair it with sky high heels and sexy eye makeup for a girls’ night out in town?

You can even make it office appropriate by tugging the hem into your black pencil skirt, put on a structured blazer to neutralize the femininity, lastly, top it off with a pair of classic black pumps.

Going to the beach? No problem! Wear this coral pink (not to mention, one of the most popular summer colors of all time) dress as it is, as a cover-up for your bikini.

Look, I can go on and on about the many ways to wear this fabulous shirt-dress, but I'm gonna stop right here before I start writing a 400 paged book, titled "1000 Ways to Wear a Coral Pink Shirt-Dress".

Let's move on to my second outfit, shall we?

Now, I have to admit, I don't have a single piece of clothing in my wardrobe in the colour ORANGE, because I've always thought that it isn't really my colour, but boy was I wrong.

(Taken from Luxe Swinger Blog)

I now have a totally different view on orange, which is a great alternative for red, yellow and even brown, and will definitely have the courage to dress in this wonderful color, perfect for summer even!

Now back to the dress, I love how the material has the perfect balance of thick and thinness, allowing it to be flowy according to your body movements, yet not too thin to look sheer and to have a better frame of your body. Comes in my favorite boat neckline too, classy and elegant.

The 'cape' of this dress definitely took the spotlight, I've always wanted a cape dress ever since Gwyneth Paltrow's appearance at the 2012 Oscars.

So masculine and elegant at the same time; in my opinion, a cape dress is made for the alpha-females.
I love the feeling of taking big steps while wearing this dress and having the wind blow through your hair and the cape will just soar behind you, so charismatic; don't laugh, but it makes me feel like a superhero ready to take on the world.

I also love it that the dress is short enough to not cut off my legs at a weird length, and make them appear shorter than they already are. The plain design also makes it versatile to pair with different shoes and accessories. Just because this dress is already appealing enough to be a statement, I suggest to play around with the accessories for a day-to-night transition.

For day, wear it with a neutral toned belt to accentuate the waist, a pair of nude wedges and a tote bag, for a sophisticated and casual look.

For night, pair this statement dress with a metallic belt, strappy stilettos with your favourite clutch and you're all good to go!

Perfect for almost any occasion (except funerals of course), this is definitely a number I suggest every girl should at least have a piece in her closet.

Now, before I move on, I would like to thanks Luxe Swinger for this incredible opportunity because like I said, I did not have any pieces in my closet which is in the color orange, but Luxe Swinger allowed me to go out of the box and experience different things in terms of fashion, and not forgetting meeting other amazing bloggers as well.

Do check out the full photo shoot album, you can see the rest of the bloggers striking their supermodel poses, wearing beautiful clothes from Luxe Swinger, ranging from evening gowns, dressy tops to party dresses and modern traditional wear; tons of varieties that I'm sure you can find something that fits your cup of tea.

All 12 bloggers will be walking on the runway on the 8th of June (Saturday), 4pm to 5.30pm, in front of Luxe Swinger store (same row as Wondermilk) at Publika; everyone is invited, so do drop by and say hello, and do a little shopping with us too, maybe?
